All Past Events

COVID-19 Update (March – September 2020): In the context of the protective measures against coronavirus, we didn’t organise any physical activities during these months. We didn’t organise any digital activities either, because we wanted to get to know our audiences better, and design our upcoming events and activities accordingly. In addition, taking into consideration the restrictions of the digital realm, we wanted to explore alternative possibilities in order to offer activities online in both interactive and qualitative ways.

Custom-Made Educational Programme: Archives in Transit: From the World of Libraries to Artificial IntelligenceGLAM Hack participated in the designing and implementation of the educational programme “Archives in Transit: From the World of Libraries to Artificial Intelligence” of the Onassis Foundation, which was offered to high-school students in two public schools in Attica. The programme, through the creative appropriation of cultural heritage materials found in databases, as well as in traditional collections, gave students the opportunity to collaboratively examine the potential usability of these materials, with the use of artistic practices and the interference of Artificial Intelligence. Through presentations, research, access and navigation technologies, visits to physical and virtual collections, and by endorsing freedom in reusing and creatively utilising cultural heritage, the world of digital tools paved the way for digital art.
